Our favorite hotel in Verbier. A charming high-end boutique hotel with lots of wood, cozy bedrooms, an excellent spa, dedicated service, and super well located – just a 5-minute walk from Place Centrale, the center of town.

All the front bedrooms have stunning mountain views. The breakfast buffet is especially good and at night the restaurant’s warm atmosphere is perfect to enjoy a delicious meal after a day on the slopes!

A five minute drive up from the Place Centrale, the center of town in Verbier. If you prefer to walk out of your hotel and be in the center of town, then we recommend Cordée des Alpes which is more central. The hotel is just steps away from the Savoleyres ski lift, and with a little skiing and wonderful catwalk you can connect to Verbier’s main mountain.

Le Chalet D’Adrien has stunning mountain views, luxurious rooms and spa, suites and apartments decorated with antique furniture. There are two restaurants to choose from; Le Grenier serves traditional alpine cuisine such as raclette and fondue and La Table d’Adrien serves a sophisticated and refined cuisine.

The Shed Hotel

Opened in 2022 by three Swedish friends, the hotel’s architecture is a blend of contemporary design and traditional Alpine chalet aesthetics. Natural light floods the interiors, showing the breathtaking mountain vistas. The use of wood and stone in the construction adds to the cozy yet sophisticated ambiance of the hotel.

Shed Hotel offers a variety of room types, from cozy chalet-style rooms to spacious suites featuring contemporary comfort in an alpine-scandi setting. In airy spaces, abstract art and eccentric books co-exist with luxurious duvets.

Their restaurant, Caffè Goomah, serves delicious pizzas.

Don’t be thrown by the container that sits at the top of the Attelas (aka James Blunt) chairlift, it is actually the site of a fabulous restaurant with stunning panoramic mountain views. On a clear winter day, the terrace is the place to be, but if the weather is not cooperating, the inside is cozy and filled with fur blankets.

Al Capone

Cozy relaxed restaurant serving Swiss and Italian

From pizzas to fondues, Al Capone is perfect for the relaxed lunch or dinner in a chalet like setting in the mountains.

Au vieux verbier

An institution in town, known for serving “potence”

Potence is a flame-grilled meat served hanging with a variety of sauces. 

The restaurant is located right next to the Medran lift, at the top of Verbier town, and also has a lovely terrace for a sunny day lunch.

Chez Dany

Ski in/ski out, a charming chalet tucked in the trees, Chez Dany’s stunning terrace is the spot in Verbier for those beautiful sunny mountain days!

The dinner plan includes walking or tractor/shuttle service (must reserve) from Carrefour and then a fun sled down! Delicious fondues, raclettes, croûtes and röstis – YUM!

L’Écurie

A charming lunch or dinner spot in town with a delicious traditional Swiss menu including rösti and émincé de veau.

La Grange

La Grange offers an extensive sophisticated menu that includes fondues, raclettes and delicious grilled meats in a cozy warm atmosphere.

LA marlénaz

No ski in/ski out. Dinner is magical, the restaurant sits in an opening of a forest, beside a beautifully lit rock. To get to La Marlénaz you first have to get to Le Sonalon Restaurant via town bus or car, from there you can either take a beautiful 25 minute walk across the mountain or you can organize for a snow tractor service to take you. What awaits you is classic Swiss mountain food, the fondues are especially good!

La Marmotte

Ski in/ski out for lunch, the dinner plan involves a 40-minute walk up a catwalk from Carrefour (or a tractor/shuttle service that must be reserved – for those whose ski legs are a little wobbly!)

On a beautiful day go for lunch on the gorgeous terrace and on a cold snowy day opt to eat inside for a cozy meal.

The menu consists of everything you feel like eating on the mountains, from delicious Swiss salads and bündnerfleisch (the Swiss dried meat) to croûtes, röstis, and fondues.

le Carrefour

Ski in/ski out, located up the mountain, out of Verbier center, and also accessible by car or town bus. Our recommendation and their speciality is meat on a hot stone.

Le Caveau

Located in Place centrale, in the center of Verbier, Le Caveau is a wonderful, relaxed restaurant serving the best fondues and raclettes in town. There is also a big menu to choose from if cheese is not your thing!

Le Dahu

Great lunch spot located in La Chaux, an area on the main mountain which is good for beginner and intermediate skiers. 

Le Grenier

Delicious food. Offers a beautiful sunny terrace at lunchtime and also a very nice ambience for dinner, indoors of course.

Le mouton noir

Le Mouton Noir has both an enormous terrace and large inside room for the cold snowy days. This restaurant is more contemporary than our other mountain recommendations, but the Swiss/French menu is solid, and if you’re looking for a live DJ music vibe, and some après-ski, head here.

Le rouge

Especially known for the biggest aprés-ski scene in Verbier, Le Rouge is also a good option for lunch and dinner. It is ski in but not ski out, as it is located at the bottom of the Rouge run, on the outskirts of center Verbier.

Les Chottes in Veysonnaz

Venture out of Verbier to Veysonnaz, one of the four valleys of Verbier! Les Chottes is an old alpine cowshed renovated into a wonderful mountain restaurant with a large wood fire in the centre. On a clear sunny day, Les Chottes has two terraces to enjoy, one with panoramic views of the Bernese Alps and a slightly more intimate terrace on the upper side of the restaurant.

We recommend heading towards Les Chottes by 11am or so as getting there, having lunch and returning to Verbier valley takes you into the late ski afternoon. It’s important to catch the last Tortin gondola or Mont Fort cable car to be able to return to Verbier town by ski.

Skiing & Slopes in Verbier

Verbier is the largest ski area in Switzerland, linking four valleys including Verbier, La Tzoumaz, Nendaz, and Veysonnaz. Wonderful long pistes connect these ski resorts providing an endless variety of runs, such as Vallon D’Arbi which takes you to La Tzoumaz (back side of Savoleyres) and the long run from the top of Mont Fort all the way down to Siviez and beyond.

Savoleyres is also an easier, child-friendly mountain.

Although we highly recommend heading to Savoleyres after big snowfalls for great powder skiing in the trees
