Bambusa-PORTO ROTONDO

pizzas and fresh fish in the port

A charming restaurant that sits right on the water in the port. The pizzas are specially made with a dough that raises for 72 hours, making it incredibly crispy and light, the fresh fish is also delicious.

Tartarughino-PORTO ROTONDO

lively and delicious

Our favorite spot for dinner in Porto Rotondo, often has a very lively atmosphere with a DJ or live music, food is delish.

Tonino re di tavolara

quintissential sardinia – a must visit!

These are the restaurants that make summer…rustic, simple and local. The views over the water are beautiful, the seafood pastas the best (try the vongole with bottarga!), and the atmosphere ideal to enjoy a relaxed summer lunch by the sea.

budelli

IDYLLIC BOAT DAY

Boating in Budelli is pure magic. Picture shallow turqoise waters, the whitest sandy bottoms and endless rocky islets and coves. Budelli is part of La Maddalena National Park, which has protected this unhabited archipelago since 1994. Budelli is not part of the Costa Smeralda, it is located just off the northern tip of Sardinia, in the strait between Sardinia and Corsica.

mortorio

boat day

Spend a day swimming and snorkelling, or simply soaking up the sun, in the stunning island of Mortorio, just opposite Porto Rotondo. The crystal-clear turqoise waters and small white sandy beaches make this little island one of the Med´s gems.

Porto rotondo

Our favourite port in Sardinia

Charming Porto Rotondo is Roaming Stones favorite on the Costa Smeralda. There is a special family ambiance in this port, especially found in the central piazzetta, combined with the many lovely boutiques to explore, Porto Rotondo is a port not to miss..

To get a feel for the local family life of this charming port, we recommend walking out of the port towards Spiaggia dei Sassi and Spiaggia Punta Volpe. This 45 minute stroll will take you by beautiful private homes and gardens that will help you understand why the Aga Khan (the founder and developer of the Costa Smeralda) was awestruck by the beauty of this coastline.

tavolara

Beach, Cliffs, and a perfect restaurant

We never miss a visit to the island of Tavalora when we are in Sardinia. Tavolara is part of a marine preserve created in 1997 to protect the area from overtourism. Whether you are looking for a day trip if you are staying in a hotel or home in Sardinia, or you are boating in the area, a day in Tavolara is highly recommended, both for its stunning beach and magnificent cliffs, as well as for one of the best beach lunches, if what you like is rustic, simple and local. See Ristorante da Tonino Re di Tavolara in EAT.
