Death Valley
Two and half hour drive from Las Vegas
Nestled on the border of California and Nevada lies a park of extremes with scorching hot summer days and frigid winter ones. With towering sand dunes, multi-colored canyons, and the lowest point in North America, Death Valley is also the driest place in North America. Drive through Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area along Highway 160 for the shortest route from Las Vegas to Death Valley.
Zabriskie Point offers extraordinary views of the rugged moonlike land.
To experience the rainbow of colors, Artists Drive is a 9 mile one-way loop beginning about 5 miles south of Furnace Creek.
Visit Badwater Basin for the salt flats. This is the lowest point in North America at 282 feet below sea level.
*IMPORTANT: In the hot summer months, make sure to take lots of water when hiking and exploring this area, dehydration is a dangerous and common effect when you go unprepared.

Valley of Fire
45 minute drive outside of Las Vegas, Nevada
Valley of Fire is just 50 miles northeast of Las Vegas, a perfect day trip from Vegas or a great stop on your road trip. Explore the most incredible scenic spots and wander through pink, red, and orange sandstone red rock formations.
Valley of Fire Highway is the ideal route for scenic viewpoints and short stops, it runs across the southern part of the park.
Just off the Valley of Fire highway is Mouse’s Tank Road which is the main road through the park that offers some of the most iconic views. Once on Mouse’s Tank Road, the perfect 1.5 mile stroll/short hike is Fire Wave.
