Seafood taverna in Pano (or Upper) Koufonisia

Just before the charming cobble-stoned main street of the Chora you will find Neo Remezzo, where the food and service will deliver a fine meal. The ambience and setting are rather nondescript, but the typically Greek menu served by smiling staff will more than make up for what is lacking in atmosphere.

A must!! Outside the Town of Naoussa in Paros

We promise a delicious meal at this charming taverna in the tiny port of the beautiful island of Schinoussa, just south of Naxos.

Nikolas offers a famous fish soup, amongst a menu filled with fresh fish from the Aegean…sea urchin roe, sea bream, crayfish and cuttlefish, lobster and red mullets, cooked to your liking…baked or grilled, in pasta or in salt.

Hike from the Southern to the northern tip of Kato (Lower) Koufonisi

Length: 1.5 hours

Level: 4/10

Roaming Stones has a number of favorite walks, the walk from the southern end of the island of Koufonisia to the northern tip is most certainly one of them.

Hike up and start from one of the southern beaches (ex. Genoupas Beach, link below for location), and simply head north, passing through the ruins of abandoned dwellings, stunning coves, beautiful beaches, a lovely church, and the one single taverna on the island.

After approximately an hour and a half you will end up on the northern tip, just opposite the port of Ano Koufonisi. The hike is easy and quite flat.

Monastiri – Korakas Cape Lighthouse

Length: 2.7-km out-and-back trail near Livadia, Paros

Level: 4/10

A beautiful route that wraps around the peninsula of AI Giannis Detis, in the northern part of Paros. This area is a protected zone for its nature, geology and history and thus, the Paros Park was established. Please be mindful and leave no footprint behind.

The trails begins at Monastiri Beach and heads north to Cape Korakas where the Cape Lighthouse is located. We recommend to hike at sunset, when the summer day heat has cooled off and you can enjoy the scenic views.

Hike Fira to Oia

Hike from the town of Fira to Oia in Santorini, along the caldera

Length: 3 hours, 10.5-km from point-to-point

Level: 6/10

Roaming Stones loves to walk, and this stunning 3 hour walk along the ridge of the caldera from the town on Fira to Oia is a favorite. The sweeping breath-taking views of the shimmering blues of the sea-filled caldera are mesmerizing.

The hike is not too difficult, but quite long at 3 hours; we recommend departing early in the morning to avoid the midday sun, we also suggest to walk from Fira to Oia, so the magnificent views of Oia are ahead of you.
